At 802 E Pike Street, students find themselves moments away from small businesses, restaurants, and coffee houses in this diverse and multicultural neighborhood. The campus is easily accessible for both drivers and those utilizing public transportation, with convenient access from throughout the Seattle area.

The state-of-the-art facilities provide cutting-edge training spaces where students work alongside experienced industry professionals. The campus features a Student Salon open to the public, allowing students to complete required clinic floor hours while gaining invaluable real-world experience. The school has created an environment that prioritizes sustainability throughout all programs, reflecting Aveda’s commitment to environmental leadership and responsibility.

The Programs

The cosmetology and esthetics programs are helmed by talented instructors who bring decades of professional experience to the classroom. These educators understand that each student learns differently, which is why the teaching approach blends theory with extensive hands-on training. Students progress through the signature curriculum that includes hair cutting, color, texture services, nail care, makeup application, business development, retail knowledge, and the crucial concept of gaining and retaining clients.

The Esthetics program at the Seattle campus runs approximately 27 weeks with 750 training hours. Students dive into the science of skincare through three distinct phases—earth, fire, and infinity—learning specialized techniques in facials, waxing, makeup application, body treatments, and business operations. The innovative approach combines age-old Ayurvedic knowledge with modern science for a truly holistic mind-body approach to skin care.

What sets Aveda apart is their environmental consciousness. They source organic, plant-based alternatives to synthetic chemicals and were the first beauty company to manufacture with certified wind power. This commitment to sustainability is woven throughout the curriculum, ensuring graduates understand the importance of environmentally responsible beauty practices. Students also benefit from industry days, salon and spa monthly demos, and community give-back events that enrich the educational experience.

Aveda Institute graduates have won countless prestigious awards including North American Hairdresser of the Year, The Edwin Neill Full Potential Award, and Student Hairdresser of the Year. Alumni work as platform artists, editorial stylists, artistic directors, makeup artists, and AVEDA Global Educators. Some of the most successful salons in the country are owned by Aveda Institute graduates.
